Grateful 2020!!
2020 has been full of a
lot of unpleasant things, but a consequence of some of those unpleasant things
is what I am truly thankful for: time, Lock-down restrictions for months and
then my daughter’s online classes have given me more free time than I have had
ever had before.
I sometimes find myself
wishing that I had more things to fill my time, things that I used to be able
to do. I miss traveling, my daughter misses
in-person school and in-person extracurricular, but I can also appreciate all
this unfilled time.
I am thankful for more time to spend with my family. We have been able to do a lot of things together that normally would be reserved only for weekends, so I want to appreciate it while I have it.
The Pandemic, along with
other natural, economic, social, and political events around us has really been
tough on many of us. As I reflect on the year, the word that comes to mind for
me is “Being Thankful”.
• I am
thankful for being surrounded by wonderful people in my life – both at work,
and on the personal front.
• I am also
thankful for the job and financial stability we have in tough times like these.
• I am
grateful for working at International Association of Schools of Social
Work (IASSW) with wonderful Board of Directors and its members across the
world.
• With all that’s going
around, I’m also thankful for the health almighty has given on me and my family,
although there are few temporary health issue/anxieties, which will go with the
time and stability across the world.
Take a
moment to count your blessings, and reflect on what You are thankful for 2020!
If what you are grateful for is a person in your life, take it to the next
level and tell them. An unexpected warm email, video call or a text message
will brighten their day!
